The Flags Are Passing

The flag is passing, bare your head
Uncover to its stars, as far as they spread
And breathe a prayer for the heroes that died
The ones who fought to keep us all alive

Though earth is decked with countless flags
We are all proud of the ones we have
None will compare with this one that is your own
Red, white or blue, you know it is home grown

This flag is your own, your very own emblem of the free
The thought of its power representing who you will be
Unconquered and all conquering
It’s plain to see, this flag is your claim to liberty

The flag is passing, bare your head
Uncover to its stars, as far as they spread
For it holds the memories of those who are dead
They wait beneath its folds for peace and happiness to spread
